The overall manuscript does not need to be too long.  A couple of pages of text plus illustrations should be enough, but you want to cover the subject adequately. Readers are looking for a taste/highlights, not a tome.

Things to look for/include (if possible):

1. Portrait/photo
2. Iconic illustrations
3. Boilerplate biographical data – birth, death, spouse, children, etc.
4. Emphasize links to UI geology
5. Pertinent quotations by or about the biographical subject, to emphasize character or contributions
6. Likewise, anecdotes
7. Focus of studies/career
8. References for works (representative) by subject, including thesis and/or dissertation
9. References for biographical information (including Wikipedia if appropriate)
