Student Awards and Scholarships
Matt Blanche Memorial Scholarship
This fund provides scholarship support for an undergraduate student who demonstrates need, is majoring in Geoscience, and has a particular interest in environmental studies. The department chair selects the recipient based on academic record and professional promise. The scholarship is nonrenewable and will be awarded to a different student each year.

Aaron and Joyce Liesch Geology Scholarship
Up to two annual scholarships to deserving students enrolled in the University of Iowa College of Liberal Arts and Sciences who are in their third year of study of geology. Awarded based on merit to the student with the highest GPA.

Bill Vosper Award
Geoscience major (junior or senior) with a minimum 3.00 GPA, contribution to the Earth & Environmental Sciences Department (field trips, work, research and/or undergraduate affairs). By faculty and GEO undergraduate student vote.
