Benjamin Howard
Benjamin Howard is an MS student in geology at the University of Arkansas with an offer for full-time work from Matador Resources Company in Dallas, TX. He has had internships in three different sectors; working with the Iowa Geological survey, Burns & McDonnell, and Hunt Oil Co. Benjamin can offer help to students and recent graduates at the University of Iowa by connecting them multiple industry contacts, in whichever sector they choose.
Benjamin has led multiple field trips while at the University of Arkansas throughout Northwest Arkansas and collaborative trips with Rice University through the Arkoma Basin and Ouachita Mountains. Owing his start as a field geologist to his time at Iowa, Benjamin continues refining his field expedition skills as often as he can. Benjamin has served in the Geoscience Student Mentorship Program (GSMP) at the University of Arkansas, leading a seminar-based reading group. In addition, Benjamin has regularly attended meetings with the Fort Smith Geological Society, acting as student ambassador for the University of Arkansas. He is also a student member in the Houston Geological Society, and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists.
