Trent Olson
Stay awhile and listen. My name is Trent Olson, and I am a PhD candidate working in Dr. Peate’s Igneous Petrology Lab. I have a Bachelor of Science in Geology from North Dakota State University and a Master of Science in Geosciences from the University of Iowa. I have been the Mineral and Petrology TA for the last few years, and greatly enjoy having a captive audience to infodump about rocks and minerals too. Outside of research, I enjoy going to metal concerts, waxing poetic about Pokémon, or playing Magic: The Gathering. I use mineral chemistry and petrography to understand mantle melting and deep crustal igneous processes that modify those melts.
